New conversations, ongoing connections · Adults 18+

Meet new people. Keep the conversations you enjoy.

A first hello is a beginning. Anichat gives adults a place for one-on-one conversations and a way to keep talking when both people want to stay in touch.

An account is required. Available on the web and through the iPhone and iPad app.

Make room for a second conversation.

Meeting someone online does not have to mean exchanging contact details straight away. You can start with a recommendation, compare interests, and decide whether you enjoy talking to each other. Keep the conversation inside Anichat for as long as that suits you both.

There is no need to turn the first chat into a life story. Share a little, listen to what they offer, and leave something to pick up next time. If you are new to the service, see how to start your first Anichat chat.

In the iPhone and iPad app

Find a conversation you want to return to.

Recents and favorites have different jobs. Use them to keep track of people you have already chatted with instead of starting from scratch each time.

Recents: pick up an existing chat

Open Recent to find your previous conversations. Choose the chat you want to return to and continue in that thread.

Favorites: keep someone easier to find

Open a chat, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Favorite user. The Favorite tab gives you a place to find people you have marked.

Favoriting helps you organize your connections; continuing the conversation still takes interest from both people. The favorites FAQ explains the app controls.

In the iOS app, deleting a recent chat also blocks that person. If you want to keep in touch, return to the chat instead of deleting it. See how blocking works.

Give your next message a reason.

A detail from the earlier chat is often enough to restart it. You do not need to invent a new introduction.

A fictional follow-up

“I tried the show you mentioned. The first episode got me! Were you hooked right away, too?”

It connects to something you discussed and gives the other person a specific question. Use your own words and only refer to something you actually talked about.

If they reply, follow their lead. If they do not, give them space; sending repeated messages will not make the interest mutual. For a first hello, try our conversation starters with follow-up ideas.

Stay in touch on your terms.

You can continue chatting without giving the other person your phone number, email address, or social handles. Your profile and messages may still reveal personal information, so review what you share and what other people can see.

A good first conversation does not commit you to another one. You can leave, block unwanted contact, or report a policy violation.

Can a chat become a friendship?

It can be a starting point. Getting to know someone takes shared interest and time, and not every conversation will continue. Anichat gives you somewhere to talk again; you decide together whether a connection grows.

Start with someone new.

Open web chat or get Anichat for iPhone and iPad. Set up your profile, start a conversation, and see whether you both want to keep in touch.
