Nickname-first chat · Adults 18+

Anonymous chat starts with what you choose to share.

Use a nickname, get to know someone in a one-on-one conversation, and keep your personal contact details out of the exchange. Understand what your profile and messages can reveal before you begin.

Anichat requires an account. A nickname does not make your activity untraceable.

What “anonymous chat” means on Anichat.

You can introduce yourself with a nickname instead of giving another participant your personal contact details. You do not have to exchange phone numbers, email addresses, or social handles to keep talking inside Anichat.

That is different from having no account or no visible profile. Your nickname, profile image or avatar, and other profile details help people recognize you. What appears can vary by platform, settings, and the information provided.

Your profile, your messages, and your account are different.

What to consider before a first conversation
InformationWhat it means for your chatWhat to check
Nickname and profile imageThese identify your profile to other participants. A familiar nickname or recognizable photo may connect it to your identity elsewhere.Review the name and image or avatar attached to your account.
Other profile detailsAge, gender, interests, and other details may appear where supported. Visibility is not limited to a nickname and photo.Review the fields and settings in the version you use before adding personal information.
Messages and shared mediaThe person in the conversation can read what you send and see media you share with them.Check your words and image backgrounds for details you did not intend to reveal.
Information given to AnichatAccount information and data handled by the service are separate from what you choose to tell another participant.Read the privacy policy for collection, use, and disclosure details.

One-on-one describes the audience, not a guarantee.

Anichat conversations have individual threads rather than a public room. A participant can still remember, retain, or share information from a conversation. Do not treat a nickname or a private thread as a promise of complete confidentiality.

Where one-time media or screenshot notifications are available, those features do not guarantee that something cannot be copied. Choose what to send with that in mind.

Keep the conversation without exchanging contact details.

You can talk about a favorite movie, a hobby, or a recommendation without naming your workplace, home address, or exact location. If someone asks to move to another service, “I would rather keep chatting here for now” is a clear response.

In the iPhone and iPad app, recents and favorites help you find conversations again. See how to keep a new connection inside Anichat.

A nickname does not change the rules.

Anichat is for adults 18+, and its rules for acceptable conduct still apply. You can leave a chat, block unwanted contact, or report a policy violation. These tools help you respond to a problem; they cannot prevent every unwanted interaction.

Choose how you introduce yourself.
